Coping with the holidays when we are battling cancer can be an added stress rather than a time of joy. Worrying about what to eat, how to eat, not able to enjoy our meals, and managing nausea and vomiting can be a challenge. Not being able to participate in gatherings due to low counts or concerns about CoVID can aggravate a sense of loneliness and depression. Difficulty traveling because you have clotting issues, concerns about crowds and multiple medications can make one feel left out. And then there is the biggest stress of all: how to truly experience joy, how to truly be present when we are afraid of not being here at all.

Join us as Dr. Roy and her team tackle this thorny topic and help us to navigate the holidays and get to the other side, intact and with some peace.

Registration Details: The registration link will take you to the Gilda’s Club event calendar. Please be sure to click on the Coping with the Holidays event on December 16th. If you are not a Gilda’s member, you will need to create a free account with just your name and email.

Caregiver stress has a profound impact on families. Whether your partner or loved one has or had cancer or any other illness. This is an opportunity to partner with other caregivers and share stress, coping, tips, resources, and simply have a space and time to prioritize you.

It’s of vital importance to your family that despite the fact that your loved one is struggling, you learn to take care of yourself, FIRST.

This group will be twice a month at first to gage interest and need.

No requirement to attend, except you are or were, a caregiver to someone else: wife, daughter, husband, neighbor and have support to offer or to give, or simply need a space to be reminded to care for yourself.

The group will be from 4-6 pm every other Saturday

Bereavement Support Group

The death of a spouse can be the most shocking and emotional experience of a lifetime. We know the unique and devastating grief that can arise after this loss and know the healing that can occur through sharing your experience with others who truly understand your journey. For these and many other reasons, we hold space for a support group specifically for those who have lost a spouse to cancer.

Our group is facilitated by Dr. Feroze, who specializes in the treatment of anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma associated with a cancer diagnosis. Her experience allows her to create a safe, trusting environment in which memories can be shared, pain can be felt, and tears can be shed without fear of judgment.

If you, or someone you know, have recently lost a spouse to cancer, we ask you to consider joining us on the first Saturday of each month to process your grief with fellow mourners. We hold this group online via Zoom, so you can join us from the comfort of your home, and there is no pressure to share if listening in feels more comfortable for you. This service is able to be covered by insurance, and we waive any copays, so you can get the support you need at no cost to you.

For more information about this group, or simply to talk with Dr. Feroze about what you are going through, contact her directly at DrFeroze@aimnatural.com
